Trauma and PTSD Treatment in San Clemente, CA
Trauma does not stay in the past. It can show up as flashbacks, nightmares, feeling constantly on guard, emotional numbness, or relationships that never feel safe. Stillmark Mental Health treats trauma and PTSD with evidence-based approaches, including EMDR when an assessment shows it is appropriate, in a structured program on the Orange County coast.
Our admissions team can answer your questions, verify your insurance, and help you decide whether PHP or IOP is the right level of care, usually in one call.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room. Our programs are outpatient and are not a substitute for emergency care.

EMDR and More
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that can help reduce the distress linked to traumatic memories. It is offered as an option when an assessment shows it is appropriate, and we do not rush into it. Clients first build stabilization skills, including DBT emotion regulation, grounding, and mindfulness, so processing happens from a place of safety. Group therapy can ease the isolation and shame trauma often leaves behind.
PHP or IOP for Trauma?
PHP (about 6 hours a day) provides the daily support that makes deeper trauma work possible.
IOP (3 hours a day) suits clients who are stable in daily life and ready for focused trauma treatment. The Evening Virtual IOP (California residents) offers skills-based support in the evening.
Healing in a Calm Setting
Trauma keeps the nervous system on high alert, and a calm, natural environment helps. Our San Clemente program pairs trauma therapy with outdoor mindfulness near the ocean, so clients practice feeling safe in their bodies, not just talking about it.
