Depression Treatment in San Clemente, CA
Depression can make everything harder: getting out of bed, showing up for work, answering a text from a friend. When weekly therapy and medication have not lifted it, more structure and more support can make the difference. Stillmark Mental Health offers Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs for adults with depression, minutes from the beach in San Clemente.
Our admissions team can answer your questions, verify your insurance, and help you decide whether PHP or IOP is the right level of care, usually in one call.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room. Our programs are outpatient and are not a substitute for emergency care.

How We Treat Depression

Signs It May Be Time for More Support
• Low mood, emptiness, or hopelessness lasting weeks or months
• Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
• Sleeping far too much or too little
• Pulling away from friends, family, or work
• Trouble concentrating or making decisions
• Weekly therapy or medication changes have not helped enough
Our Approach
Depression feeds on isolation and inactivity, so our program works against both. Clients attend several hours of treatment each day, including group therapy, individual therapy, and skills training. DBT teaches emotion regulation and ways to break cycles of rumination and withdrawal. Where trauma drives the depression, EMDR is offered as an option when an assessment shows it is appropriate. We coordinate with your prescriber on medication, and aftercare planning starts in the first week.
PHP or IOP for Depression?
PHP runs about 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, for people whose depression is making daily life hard to manage or who are stepping down from an inpatient stay.
IOP runs 3 hours a day, either 3 or 5 days a week, and leaves room for work, school, or family. California residents can also join our Evening Virtual IOP, 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
Why Treatment by the Coast Helps
