DBT for BPD and Emotional Dysregulation in San Clemente
When emotions hit hard and fast, relationships feel unstable, and reactions seem out of proportion, life can feel like a constant crisis. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was developed for exactly this, and it is the core of our program. We offer DBT-based PHP and IOP treatment for adults with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and emotional dysregulation.
Our admissions team can answer your questions, verify your insurance, and help you decide whether PHP or IOP is the right level of care, usually in one call.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room. Our programs are outpatient and are not a substitute for emergency care.

How DBT Helps

Signs Emotions Are Running Your Life
• Intense emotions that are hard to calm down
• Relationships that swing between closeness and conflict
• Fear of abandonment or rejection
• Impulsive decisions you later regret
• A shifting or unclear sense of who you are
• Chronic feelings of emptiness
The Four DBT Skill Sets
Mindfulness: noticing what is happening without being swept away.
Distress tolerance: getting through a crisis without making it worse.
Emotion regulation: lowering emotional intensity and vulnerability.
Interpersonal effectiveness: asking for what you need while keeping relationships and self-respect.
PHP or IOP?
PHP (about 6 hours a day) provides intensive DBT skills training and daily support.
IOP (3 hours a day) lets clients keep working or studying while they build skills. California residents can also join the Evening Virtual IOP, 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
Support for Families
Emotional dysregulation affects everyone close to it. Our For Families resources help loved ones understand DBT and learn how to respond in ways that support recovery.
